Of course you may use whatever I say in my blog; when we publish something on the Internet, we lose any expectation of privacy -- which is as it should be.

KennyAlan Smithee, Jr.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17579046659203943706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682273669463402365.post-43677182252108656292008-09-05T10:51:00.000-06:002008-09-05T10:51:00.000-06:00I've read every article up to this point. I think...I've read every article up to this point. I think this is one of the best blogs I've ever read. Sometimes a person articulates for me my thoughts and it's almost like a person without language, but he still thinks, suddenly giving his thoughts words to express it.

As to this article, I couldn't agree more. This is one of the many reasons we homeschool. It's not just what they teach in the school system, its the exposure at a young age to other children who have been babysat by Hollywood via the TV set.

I'd like to ask your permission for something I've never done. I'd like to cut and paste your most current article to my blog, giving credit and a link of course. If the answer is no, it'd be ok. I'll take your silence as a no.Danny Wrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15006024707303951009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682273669463402365.post-81036059367244607052008-02-24T11:09:00.000-07:002008-02-24T11:09:00.000-07:00Thanks, Bru, for the kind words. Yes, Hollywood is...Thanks, Bru, for the kind words. Yes, Hollywood is just one gear in the Infernal Machine, but it is a noisy and large cog and an obvious target. But, I, too, have distanced myself from the crudities of our culture now for a number of years and have found the peace of mind a welcome relief from the daily battle. But we must battle, and countering the old canards the culture-destroyers use is one weapon. Abstinence is another.
Thanks for picking up "The Welcoming Door." It is my own favorite as well. Let me know when you're ready to read the sequel ("City on a Hill") and I'll be glad to get you an autographed copy. In the meantime, God bless!

KennyAlan Smithee, Jr.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17579046659203943706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2682273669463402365.post-47473396715707248442008-02-06T11:32:00.000-07:002008-02-06T11:32:00.000-07:00Kenny Kemp,As a former atheist and now a radical b...Kenny Kemp,
As a former atheist and now a radical born again believer in Christ, I’m certain I could successfully argue both sides of the argument both for and against the effects that Hollywood has on our society. We should take a look at history and see the bloodlust of the Romans, desiring more and more blood sport in their coliseums just prior the fall of their society. It is both Hollywood’s fault for their morally bankrupt productions and the individuals fault in letting oneself become polluted and allowing oneself to be spoon-fed what Hollywood is dishing out. Hollywood is but one cylinder of many powering the engine that is driving our society right of the cliff. In a world where continual media bombardment is desensitizing us all to everything that was once morally wrong, the Holy Spirit is doing the exact opposite in trying to sensitize us and open our eyes what is really happening around us.
For the past month I have divorced myself from mass media, canceling my cable TV, morning newspaper, and no longer listen to talk radio. I plan to continue this for about 7 to 8 months and note the effect that this has on the attitudes and habits of my household. I have been relishing the quiet time I have had to read, which brings me to why I have come to your webpage and blog. I picked up your book “The Welcoming Door”, and I wanted to tell you what an absolute joy it was to immerse myself into that book. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of your writings.
God Bless you in all your endeavors,
TonyBruhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11061741711432291376noreply@blogger.com
